Rick Parnell formed the firm on May 1, 1985.
Previously Rick had specialized in insurance defense while as
a partner in another Las Vegas firm. Prior to moving to Las
Vegas in February of 1982, Rick spent six years on the faculty
of his law school alma mater, the University of Pacific/
McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, California. Rick
primarily taught Trial Advocacy and was the head of the
school's Trial Advocacy programs. During those same six years,
Rick served as a Deputy District Attorney for Sacramento
County and a part-time faculty member for the ABA's National
Institute for Trial Advocacy.
Rick spent four years in the
United States Air Force between high school and college. His
undergraduate degree was received at California State
University, Stanislaus, where he was honored as the
Outstanding Graduate for 1973. Rick's law degree was received
in 1976, and he was admitted to the California bar the same
year.
Rick has handled a full range
of cases over the years, including insurance coverage issues,
medical malpractice, premises liability, product liability,
construction defect, and cases alleging bad faith. He has
handled cases involving all levels of personal injury,
including brain damage and wrongful death. He has tried more
than fifty jury trials. Rick has also served as chairman of
the Continuing Legal Education Committee of the Nevada State
Bar.
